WATCHMAN’S JOB by MARSHA BURNS

To protect the city.
Has to stay awake.
Must be alert.
Have good vision and declare what he sees.
Sound the alarm.
 
This is a prophetic picture of those set to protect the people of God.
 
Isaiah 21:11  … “Watchman, what of the night?  Watchman, what of the night?”
 
Psalm 127:1  Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
 
We cannot become complacent and sleep.
 
Isaiah 56:9-10  All you beasts of the field, come to devour, all you beasts in the forest.  His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
 
The enemy is waiting for the watchmen to be distracted or to fall asleep on the job.  Then, Satan comes to devour.
 
John 10:10  The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
 
We must also watch for the coming of the Lord so that we are ready to meet Him.
 
Mark 13:35-37  "Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming––in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning––lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.  And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"
 
We must have our spiritual senses so finely tuned that we can discern the slightest rift in the atmosphere.
 
Hebrews 5:14  But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
 
1 Corinthians 12:10a  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits …
 
After we must see and discern the nature of the threat, we declare it.
 
Isaiah 21:5  Prepare the table, set a watchman in the tower, eat and drink.  Arise, you princes, anoint the shield!  For thus has the Lord said to me:  “Go set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.”
 
Ezekiel 3:17  Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me.
 
And … sound the alarm!
 
Ezekiel 33:6  If the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

SPIRIT HORSES by Jeanine Adams
January 25, 2009:
In the Spirit, I heard these questions: “Don’t you know?” “Don’t you hear?”
I asked, “Know and hear what?”
Spirit: Pounding
Me: What is it?
Spirit: Hooves
Me: Is it horses?
Spirit: Yes
Me: Is this good or bad?
Spirit: These riders are coming in answer to the call.
Me: What call?
Spirit: The call for help in the current and upcoming fight.

Then, I could actually see the horses and their riders. I could see through them. There were so many running towards me. Then, I heard the Spirit say, “The horses are coming in on the word – it’s the road, the path of truth that they run on. Faith in that word shall vaporize the enemy’s attempt to destroy assigned territories.”

I saw one of the horses pull away from the group, and it came with its rider into the sanctuary. It reared up, and the rider said, “We are waiting for your words. We are here to help. Get dressed!” I said, “What do you mean ‘get dressed’?” And, the rider said, “Your armor has dropped from position; there are holes. Get properly dressed. Here we go!"

"I saw the King's table in the Spirit, but it wasn't spread with food and drink. It was covered with maps and charts, cartographic tools and little military figures. This is the King's Counsel table where He reveals to us the activities of the enemy, His plan for victory and our instructions for action. Meeting with the Lord at His counsel table is critical at this time; what we learn here will be a breakthrough against the front of Satan's attacks against us.

"I heard the phrase "obstruction of justice". As we know, it is the Lord's intention to establish justice for His people and it is the enemy's plan to "obstruct" - to build up against, to hinder or to hide from sight. Satan is working to prevent you from attaining the new level of stability, maturity and destiny to which the Lord has called you. Satan's only place of strength is to work in darkness to hide his activity from our sight. We must listen at the King's Counsel table where the King is revealing Satan's works; we need to see in the Spirit, past the physical circumstances, people and attitudes that seem to be the problem and discern the demonic influences. Once we see this, our prayer and declaration becomes precise and effective for pulling down these strongholds.

"I saw in a vision the Desert Warrior (one who fights for the unseen promise of God) standing alone with his spear by his side. Across the desert plain I could see a violent sand storm moving toward him. He stood fast as the storm raged around him and I saw the blowing sand stripping the flesh away from his hand and revealing gold. His spear point had been worn from use and the sand was polishing and sharpening it. We have not yet seen (in full) the victory and the justice that the Lord has promised, instead we see the storm. Stand where God has put you and prepare your faith and weapons of war. In order to overcome the enemy we have to fight for the promise that is not yet seen - we need to fight to protect a promise that has not yet come to pass.

Do not think it is a strange thing, My people, that the enemy has been sent against you.  Hindering spirits have been sent forth to keep you out of the fullness of that which I am doing at this time.  But, remember My words, behold I give unto you authority; I give unto you power over all the works of the enemy.  So, when you find the enemy's attack against you, then rise up and use My Word as a sword against him.  These are days of war.  These are the days of My power when the enemy will be placed under My footstool, and you are those people who shall do that.  I say again, do not think it strange that hindering forces have come to steal from you that which has been imparted.  Rise up in the anointing, and break the yoke of bondage.  Rise up and have victory over infirmity.  Rise up and be healed.  Rise up and be delivered.  Come into the fullness of My Word and into the fullness of My promises.  Do not let up and do not look back.  The journey is before you; the road to perfection is before you.  I shall perfect those things that concern you, says the Lord.
 
 
Small Straws by Marsha Burns
You have heard it said that misery loves company, but I tell you to set a watch, for a trap has been set to draw you into the predicaments of others when you have no responsibility or desire to be involved. Speak or act only when I give you the unction to do so, says the Lord. And, beware of getting entangled in situations where you have no legitimate authority to take action. I will give you discernment to know the limits of your involvement, but you must choose to stay within the confines and safety of your own boundaries.
 
The devil is doing his best to try to make you responsible for his foul play.  He is the accuser and is set on bringing serious accusation against you that will make you feel condemned.  This is an attack that will bring up the past and seduce you into taking the blame for others' actions.  If you succumb to this seduction, it will take you out of the flow of the Spirit and will dump you down into the flesh.  Resist, says the Lord!  James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
 
Beloved, old issues that have been out of sight and out of mind are coming up for review.   Dealing with these things will not necessarily be comfortable or fun, but it can be profitable if you will rise above emotionally charged memories to a higher perspective to look through eyes of the Spirit instead of looking through eyes of the flesh.  This is a time when you come to a great and lasting resolution once and for all, says the Lord. 
Proverbs 17:24a Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding.
 
Be still and listen, My children.  Do you hear the clattering in the realm of the spirit?  There is turmoil as the enemy is clamoring to re-gain his position and strongholds.  This is because many of My warriors have run to the battle using the sword of the Spirit, My Word, to thwart his plans and defeat his purposes.  Do not stop too soon in your efforts to route the devil.  He is regrouping for another round of attacks.  Watchmen, sound the alarm and stand at the ready.  Turn back the battle at the gate, says the Lord.  Isaiah 28:5-6 In that day the LORD of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people, for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
 
Quote from Ulysses S. Grant:  "The art of war is simple enough.  Find out where your enemy is.  Get at him as soon as you can.  Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving."
