Discern the enemy by the nature of his attack.

Dispossess the enemy from his present position.

     7.  religious error

Seven steps to deliverance
     1.  honesty
     2.  humility
     3.  repentance (turning from sin)
     4.  renunciation (forsaking evil)
     5.  forgiveness
     6.  prayer (to God)
     7.  warfare (against the devil)

Seven ways to stay free
1.  armor of God (Ephesians chapter 6)
2.  exercise authority through proclaiming the Word
3.  read the Word of God
4.  crucify the flesh
5.  prayer and praise
6.  fellowship with other true believers
7.  commitment and dedication to Christ
 

I John 4:2-3  By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Mark 9: 25  When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,    Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!"

2 Timothy 1: 7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Acts 16: 16  Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling.

Numbers 5:14  ‘if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although she has not defiled herself—

Luke 13:11  And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.

Hosea 4:12  My people ask counsel from their wooden idols, And their staff informs them. For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray, And they have played the harlot against their God.

1Kings 22: 21-22 "Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’  The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’

Proverbs 16:18  Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Romans 8:15  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Proverbs 28:18  Whoever walks blamelessly will be saved, But he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.

Acts 8:7  For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

Proverbs 13:4 ¶ The soul of a lazy (lethargic) man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

Isaiah 61:3  To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

Proverbs 1:10  My son, if sinners entice (seduce) you, do not consent.
