PROPHETIC WARRIORS by BILL BURNS
A higher level of warfare is now taking place in the heavenlies.
The cry of the Spirit is “Rise and rise again until lambs become lions.” Lambs must now roar like the lion. The Word of God in their mouths will become a roar in the spirit world that will defeat the enemy.
1. David’s heart was after God’s heart.
2. David was a worshiper.
3. David acted wisely in battle.
4. David honored God by fighting God’s enemies.
5. David depended on God to teach him warfare.
We need to develop a heart like David had so victory will always be ours.
Prophetic warriors will have the roar of the Lion, which will become the sword of the Spirit that will cut the enemy down.
Ephesians 6:17 “Take the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Revelation 19:15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The Word of God is a two-edged sword.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
One edge – the written word.
The other edge – the prophetic word.
Dreams and visions have been given by the Lord to confirm the fact that God is calling His people to become mighty warriors who can defeat the giants of the land.
Psalm 110:
1 The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool."
2 The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
3 Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.
Worshiping warriors will come forth as the Word of God demands.
Psalm 149:
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
7 To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute on them the written judgment—This honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!
Joel 2:
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand:
2 A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even for many successive generations.
3 A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them.
4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like swift steeds, so they run.
Joel 2:
10 The earth quakes before them, The heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow dark, And the stars diminish their brightness.
11 The LORD gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?
Joel 3:
9 Proclaim this among the nations: "Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near, Let them come up.
10 Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’"
11 Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O LORD.
The Lord’s Army will awaken and prepare for battle. The mighty angels will war with us against the powers of darkness.
Isaiah 51:9 “Awake, awake, put on strength O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days in the generations of old.”
Awake and be like the mighty men of old as in the ancient days.
Prophetic warriors rise up and become the lions of the Lord! Individually we are warriors; corporately we are the Army of the Lord. The Lord gives voice before His army this day – “Rise up and become lions – run to the battle. Victory is assured!
