FIVE STONES

David was the most successful warrior in the Kingdom of God. He never lost a battle, and he subdued the armies of the nations around him and brought them under God’s rule.

The Power of Five

In the Kingdom of God the number five represents God’s grace (empowerment) – His power in us.

Ephesians 1:
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

1. Number one – represents God in His sovereignty – one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God. His right to rule over His people – one body.
2. Number two – the number of unity (union), God with us – the power of agreement.
Matthew 18: 19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
The agreement of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. Number three – the number of “divinity”. Father, Son, Holy Spirit – power of the Third Day (resurrection power). The power of God over body, soul and spirit.
4. Number four – represents God’s power over His creation – four seasons, four directions, four elements. It is the door that connects heaven and earth – “Come up here.” (Revelation 4)
5. Number five – the power of grace in redemption. Father, Son, Spirit, creation, redemption (5). My grace is sufficient for you. Grace is favor, spiritual empowerment.

Ephesians 1:4 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

Grace was established before man was created on the 6th day (#6).

The Stone Kingdom

In Daniel’s vision is the fifth and final kingdom in the world (Daniel 2:40-45). David’s five stones represent God’s power in man to have victory over Satan’s kingdom by the spoken word.

Goliath (the giant) represents the demonic powers of Satan’s kingdom that are aligned against us. David chose five smooth stones (made smooth by water, anointing) to use against Goliath.

1 Samuel 17:40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.

The anointing is the power of grace that comes to us by the Spirit.
The stone David used was the anointed word of prophecy.

1 Samuel 17:
45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
46 "This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

And the word was fulfilled – the head (authority of Satan) was removed!

The Commission of Five through the prophetic word.

Mark 16:
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.

1. Preach the Word – the written and proceeding word, which defeats Satan’s rule – the word of truth, the word of faith. This is a smooth stone between the eyes of demonic powers.

2. Cast out demons – by the spoken word. Second smooth stone.
Matthew 16: 18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Tell Satan to leave – in faith. Bind him with chains (God’s word).

3. Third stone – baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Jude 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints––

Watchful – discern the enemy’s attacks and pull down the strongholds by the anointed word. Baptism of fire!

4. Serpents nor anything deadly will hurt them – the 4th stone is one of rejoicing (joy), worship because of living the victorious life.

5. Heal the sick – the 5th stone (grace) is healing because of the word.

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Speak the word, in Jesus’ name (be healed).

Matthew 8:
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon–possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses."

These are the five smooth stones of victory that are for every believe. These are activated by the anointed, spoken word.

Five Stones Jesus Gave to His Church

Ephesians 4:
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head––Christ––

These five are voices that speak the Word of God (v.15). The word of truth that defeats the lies of the enemy.

Let us fight through this month and gain the victory in this season of warfare! Do a David! We win!
