FEARLESS WARRIORS by BILL BURNS
1. We are in a season of
intense spiritual warfare (July-September) in which the enemy will try to steal
the faith seeds of blessings that have been planted.
2. The current attack of the serpent is to release a spiritual venom to numb and
dumb us so that we won’t do the necessary warfare required to protect the
harvest of God’s blessings.
3. A greater measure of spiritual authority will be given in this season for
warfare – golden shields are being given (divine faith). God is equipping His
people for war, and He intends to raise up a company of fearless warriors in
this, the end of the age.
Fearless Warriors
Joel 2:
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at
hand:
2 A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the
morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The
like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even
for many successive generations.
3 A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land is like
the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely
nothing shall escape them.
4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like swift steeds, so
they run.
5 With a noise like chariots Over mountaintops they leap, Like the noise of a
flaming fire that devours the stubble, Like a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before them the people writhe in pain; All faces are drained of color.
7 They run like mighty men, They climb the wall like men of war; Every one
marches in formation, And they do not break ranks.
8 They do not push one another; Every one marches in his own column. Though they
lunge between the weapons, They are not cut down.
9 They run to and fro in the city, They run on the wall; They climb into the
houses, They enter at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth quakes before them, The heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow
dark, And the stars diminish their brightness.
11 The LORD gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong
is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is great and very
terrible; Who can endure it?
This is a picture of God’s end-time warriors.
They are mighty men!
They are men of war!
Do you want to be one of these warriors of the morning?
The prophet Zechariah says, in chapter 10: “Ask for the rain in the time of the
latter rain” – anointing of power for war. And, in chapter 12 he says: “The one
who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David
shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord.”
Like Jesus
Acts 10: 38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with
power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil, for God was with Him.
John 14: 12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that
I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to
My Father.
Like David’s Mighty Men
David was anointed for war; he defeated the enemy, and he never lost a battle
because God was with him. The men that joined him became mighty in war – they
became like David.
In 2 Samuel chapter 23 and 1 Chronicles chapter 11 you can read about the deeds
of David’s mighty men.
Adino, chief among the captains, killed 800 men at one time. His name means “His
Ornament” or God’s symbol of victory.
Eleazar (one of the three mighty men) whose name means “God has helped.”
Shammah
2 Samuel 23: 11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. The
Philistines had gathered together into a troop where there was a piece of ground
full of lentils. Then the people fled from the Philistines.
12 But he stationed himself in the middle of the field, defended it, and killed
the Philistines. And the LORD brought about a great victory.
Shammah – like we now need to be doing to protect the harvest. His name means
“astonishment.” You too will be astonished at the power of God that flows
through you when you take up God’s cause and fight His battles.
The Cause is God’s
When David found Israel’s army trembling in fear because of Goliath he said, “Is
there not a cause?” The cause is God’s:
1 Samuel 17:
45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a
spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts,
the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
46 "This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and
take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of
the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that
all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 "Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and
spear; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will give you into our hands."
Faith for this kind of war comes when we take up God’s cause and die to our
own.
Galatians 2:20 KJV “I am crucified with Christ (I have died to my desires)
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life I now life
in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave
Himself for me.”
Revelation 12:
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and
the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser
of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast
down.
11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their
testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Great power for victory comes when we lay down our lives and take up God’s
cause, which is to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
Extraordinary Times
We live in extraordinary times.
We are living at the end of the age when Jesus will come for His Bride.
We are living in the Third Day of Christ and the 7th Day of God.
These are the days of the Lord in which the restoration of all things takes
place.
The Lord is now raising up Joel’s army – Fearless Warriors, a league of
extraordinary Christians who have died to their desires and have taken up God’s
cause. They are like David’s men, like the Angel of the Lord before them.
These are the warriors of the morning, and their battle cry is “Victory in the
name of the Lord!”
Is there not a cause?
